The Island Council of La Gomera has delivered all the documentation and the works of low voltage and fire protection of the rural hotel 'Casa de Los Lugo' to the town of Agulo, owner of the property, to facilitate the implementation of the new accommodation infrastructure of the municipality. The Lugo hotel has ten rooms with a category of two palms, which will be dedicated to rural tourism. The infrastructure is an old manor house, conditioned and equipped under the Plan for Infrastructure and Tourism Quality, which is funded by the Island Council of La Gomera and the Canary Islands Government.

The chairman of the Island Council, Casimiro Curbelo, explains that this facility forms part of the insular plan to increase the attraction and tourism development of the northern municipalities of La Gomera such as Agulo. The town has also another property, the 'Casa de Los Perez', for which the Island Council of La Gomera has drafted the restoration works and needs of equipment, which have been sent to the General Directorate of Tourism Infrastructure, responsible for contracting the work.

Curbelo suggests that Agulo benefits also from an investment of 800.000 Euros, with which works are well under way in the future Information Centre in the zone of Juego de Bolas, also included in the Plan for Infrastructure and Tourism Quality. The purpose of this action is to create a new recreation area and views over the Barranco de La Palmita, offering a wider range of leisure and tourism in the municipality, together with parking areas for buses and light vehicles, so that the place can become a new starting point to encourage walking on La Gomera.
