The Agulo Town Council has received a tourist commission from Miami, who arrived to Tenerife with the first flight linking Miami with the Canaries. The commission has lived a day of culture and tradition at the Gomeran town, through actions that the Town Council has prepared for the occasion. The tourism commission has been received in the Auditorium Benedicto Negrín Hernández, where representatives of the municipal corporation, headed by the mayor, Néstor López, have welcomed all members and where they have been given different gifts to commemorate this first visit to the municipality.

After the reception in the Auditorium, the Town Council has given the commission a sample of traditions of La Gomera, and in particular, Agulo. In the municipal square a tasting of typical products of the island has been prepared, after which it was possible to enjoy an exhibition of folklore and Gomeran whistle, with the support of the Atalaya Folklore Association and the whistlers of the Restaurant Las Rosas of Fred Olsen.

The mayor of Agulo, Néstor López, believes that the day has been "a great opportunity and an excellent occasion to publicize the town of Agulo to this delegation of Miami." "Besides, it has allowed us to showcase the best of our region in a relaxed, friendly and enjoyable atmosphere", he adds.
